Was Robin williams the best or Homer Simpson?

The above is an excuse to post; I know you will all say Robin Williams. I want to introduce myself. I am a fan of Aladdin. Jafar is my inspiration. Hello!

Jafar! *gasps and puts hands on face* [/end of off-the-wall Aladdin's Storytime at Disneyland reference]

Wow, all these Jafar fans are popping up now. Sweet beans Cool

In response to your question, I like both Robin and Dan because as I've said before somewhere buried deep on this board, each one brings an element of Genie that I think is needed. But if I HAD to pick just one, it'd be Robin.

Robin Williams was my favorite Genie; surprise, surprise. Very Happy I think someone here prefers Dan Castellaneta (hard to spell his name).

Welcome Jafar-cake!

I like Dan Castellaneta as a voice-actor, but when I first heard Dan's version of Genie, it kinda left me cold at first.

Welcome to the forums, Cake.

*high fives* Less than two months til that reopens... *bounces up and down excitedly*

As for my favorite Genie, I gotta say Robin Williams cause he really made Genie, but Dan Castallaneta cracks me up. Very Happy

*hugs the barrel fairy*

Welcome To Aladdin Central!!

I would have to say Robin Williams did the best as the Genie! He really pushed it the limits and was funny and ad lib alot. He is Genie when he plays him you feel a depth of emotion and comdey at the same time. Also Genie was made to be like him. The other guy did alright but I will never forget Robin Williams as the Genie he was great!

i always loved that Very Happy although i never do that to Lady AP for fear of being whacked Laughing

BTW i was at DCA today and during the last show of Aladdin , considering how funny Nick Santa Maria is when he is Genie , after he grants Jafars wish of being sultan and jafar laughs (or somthing like that) and genies just about to crack another joke a few babies start to cry so on the spot he says to jafar "Well now look you made the children cry"causing the audience to start laughing and then jafar starts to smile and so the show suddenly stops for a few min.. The whole time jafars trying not to laugh and break character so Genie continues to push the joke even farther until jafar lets out a small chuckle and suddenly is back to evil jafar again
( all this time aladdin the gaurds and the person who plays iago are trying not to laugh Laughing . Only one didnt even smile which was Jasmine Very Happy )

Nick Santa Maria's not with the show anymore. Crying or Very sad But if the Genie was funny (and I know he was, cause it's Sunday Laughing ), you saw Layden Sadecky. He's SO FUNNY. He's my favorite Genie they have now. "Call me butter 'cause I'm on a roll! *insert hip-rolling motion here* Can't touch me! *sings the song* Drop it like it's HOT!" Laughing

I like both Dan and and Robin, but if I had to pick one, probably Robin; he's usually funnier, although he steals the spotlight too much from Al sometimes, IMO. It's really hard to compare beyond that because they've got completely different personalities. Confused

Yeah, almost all of them are gone now. Sad I think Dee Dee's the only one left, and she's gone for awhile.

I voted Robin.

Dan, I don't know, struck me funny. He had this over-screechy Nathan Lane quality that I sometimes love and sometimes hate, you know?

So I stuck with the one that I always love!
