I am maybe one of three people excited for this movie  . Although I am sick of the princess thing, I am glad this one has spunk and she's a comedian. I hope they haven't changed that over the course of production...
And it's directed by my art hero, so I have to see it just because |

Dangnabbit, we already had a princess who looked Irish with Ariel. Can't we have a princess who looks Slavic? Or Norwegian? Or... Italian! *Sighs*
I do want to see this, though. Having a comic princess sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe she'd even be half as fun as Janette!

it will be only computer animation. i do like the traditional animation style better, but i think it looks pretty good. i'm really glad someones finally doing a full length movie with Rapunzel, besides Barbie 
And hey, atleast Disney will be getting away from the main focus point of animals. *shrug*

Now, I *know* I had a thread about this somewhere. but I can't find it.
Anyway, Rapunzel has gone through some major reconstruction. They're taking away all the shrek-iness and making it more traditional.
As for the voice actors, I have no idea who they will be. they named some voice actors before, but I heard one of them isn't doing it anymore. I forgot all the details though.

Sigh, it looks interesting enough. But please someone bring back the animated musicals ! That was disney is known for, great songs and hand by hand drawings were really detailed.
Was Home on the Range was the last animated musical? |

it's said that they did change the beginning styles they had layed down and now it will look more smooth, and more traditional 'looking'. They had 3 people who were signed up for voices, Witch, Rapunzel, & Prince. The woman for the witch, i have no clue of name, backed out. But they still have Kristen & Dan are still commited as of now.
Also, just so you all. This WiLL be a musical. i'm not sure how many songs, it could just be one of those rinkiedink ones with just 2 songs, or if it'll be like most D*sney musical movies. The song writter is rumored to be Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie).
Apperiantly, what happens is a witch takes two regular teens and turns them into fairtales.
"...a frustrated witch brings two romantically-challenged teenagers from the real world into the classic fairytale, and transforms them into the legendary long-haired heroine and her gallant prince."
As excited as i am, right now i'm looking deep into Enchanted. Which i hope will be amazing!!! if you havent heard of it, i suggest you visit it on imdb.

| I know Reece Witherspoon was going to be the princess, but she backed out because as the project changed, she said it "wasn't what she oringally signed up to do." What--you have to leave when it gets better and gets rid of all the toliet humor? We all can't be Cameron Diaz in Shrek |

Hm, intresting. i didn't know that
i think Kristen will do a great job. Even though i LOATH (ha! get it?!) her as a 'person'!...i do enjoy her acting style as well as voice.

Why don't you like Kristin Chenowith, Gaz? (I don't know anything about her personally so I have no opinion and am curious.)
I do agree that her voice and acting style seems PERFECT for a comic-style Rapunzel. |

Eh, well, when i was in NYC i had dinner with Norbert L. Butz (Feyero, You should all see Dirty Rotten Scoundrals the movie!!!), Joel Grey (the Wizard), a few Ensemble members, Eden Espenosa (sp?), as well as Kristen. We ate at semi nice restrant, and it was about 9 or 10. She would not take off her damn sunglass! it was so annoying. i know it's not much to complain about, but it's like, you're inside a restrant at night! it made it so hard to talk to her, and the things were bigger than her head! you couldn't see her eyes! As we all were talking about things like musical movies and their up coming shows, Kristen continiously talked over people talking about 'stepping up', 'moving on'. Eden turned to her at one point and said, "Honey...honey...Joel's talking." but then laughed. Kristen was very biest on many issues.
After dinner we walked outside and 3 teenage girls ran over in tears because they were so amazed it was them. Everyone signed their shirt, arm, paper, ect and took pictures with them. Kristen only signed on of the girls', and when they asked to take a picture she said, 'you can take a picture OF me." She wasn't joking...
Really she's the perfect Galinda because she iS Galinda. That just set me off. But again, i do think she's good at what she does, and i LOVED her in RV, but i don't like her as a 'person'.
