And I'd say Mickey and Minnie are closer to their cartoon proportions than a few others are, but ok |

The only costume that even begins to creep me out is Jessie, because she's so dead-eyed.
I'll admit it, she disturbs me.
Of course, some other characters are disturbing as well, but that's not because of the costumes... _________________ "This cow's been covered with flour!" |

The Disney World versions of Jafar and Frollo are ridiculously horrible. I still think those two could be done as face characters--after all, Disney's done stage shows of both Aladdin and HoND, so it's not impossible to make someone up to look like Frollo or Jafar. But no, they stick to disproportionate and ugly costume heads. |

Considering Andreas kept in mind to make Jafar's face like a mask, I find it hilariously ironic . I wouldn't really want anyone to fake that accent, though. Hearing all the Alices talk is always funny
Frollo's could use a touch up, though. And what's funny is they make Hook a face character sometimes and then back to the masks. They can't make up their minds |

Heh, good point with the accent. WTF even is that, anyway, it doesn't sound like any Arabic accent or even stereotypical interpretation of one that I've ever heard. WTF, Jafar, you are clearly not British, stop trying to sound like it. |

I've heard Ted and/or Terry call Jafar's accent Mid-Atlantic, but they didn't come onto the film until Jonathan Freeman had already been hired and had made some recordings in that accent... So, yeah, I don't know if he was going for an English accent or just an American upper-crust accent. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! I go with English just to piss off all those people who say "omg they made all the bad characters have arab accents" so I can point them to Jafar and ask them to re-evaluate their logic |

Yes, then you'll have to contend with all the pissed-off people with English accents.
If they wanted to throw people off, they could have given Jafar an Australian accent. Or even German, made him sound like Conrad Veidt. _________________

Like my mom. She was kind of ticked off at Pocahontas.
And while I'm in this thread, this is a really freaky Abu costume. _________________ "If only I could believe you. Perhaps I can! After all... you do bear the name of a flower." -- Arbutus |

Abu should be a puppet or a stuffed animal that Aladdin carries around or something. Not a character. It makes no sense to have human-sized Abu.
Or human-sized Mushu for that matter. Stop making lovable little sidekicks huge, Disney! |

But it's just as strange to have a puppet/stuffed animal because Jafar has Iago on his shoulder at Disneyland and it's really hard to have him up there and NOT hear him talking . I'd rather interact with a giant version of the character than a tiny one that's just there for show and nothing else. |

I was excited when I went, and I LOVED his house. Although some of the clothes in teh laundry were pretty big, not to mention the washer, but I thought Pluto's things were cute. Paco would kill for a bone that size. _________________ "I too am a member of your species, Captain, or I was. Perhaps I am not anymore. Perhaps you are right in thinking of me as an alien. Aww come on, are they really that bad? I hang out with the characters for a living, and I love them. Sure, there are some that you look at and go 'wtf?' (Case in point, Wendell Bear from Country Bears...he looks DRUNK.) But most of the character designs are lovely. And the face characters...they're great too.
The thing is about children...yes, they can get scared. They are seeing their idols from their favorite movies, right there in front of them. They don't know what to do, what to say. Heck, I'm 18, practically LIVE with the characters, and I often find myself tongue tied when I'm playing at the park and go to meet them. Some children are bold and happy with the characters. Shy children tend to avoid them, or bring their parents with them. It just depends on the child's personality. |
