The song was the deciding factor when I voted.
I have to wonder about Ursula's past. It was said that she lived in the palace, but that was about it. I wonder what her status was.
And BTW, as far as I'm concerned, she never had a sister. (Like some other people on this board, I, too, don't like LM2.)

Ursula was an advisor of Triton's palace, just like Jafar, except she got banished earlier..... _________________ Well I'd like a Good Laugh too! I'm Laughing already! Hahahahaha!

Nah, her monologue at the beginning of "TLM" seems to imply that she was the ruler but was ousted by the merefolk. _________________

I kind of doubt that (sorry, but that's my opinion)
And if anyone should deserve to be the Queen of the Oceans, it has to be Ursula.
Besides, one thing I didn't like about her is her "Giant" act. Sure it's great and all that, but she should've just turned that stupid Ariel and Eric into those creatures (I like to call them "Sea Mamlucks" for some reasons *chuckles*) and take her throne as the Queen of the Seas.
And I find it dissapointing that she got killed by a mere mortal, but hey, I get defeated by Aladdin, so it doesn't matter *shrugs*
Even if Ursula lost, she still has my respect. _________________ Well I'd like a Good Laugh too! I'm Laughing already! Hahahahaha!

Nah, she was too destructive.

Dude! You should know it's not that easy. You can't just go around turning people into those things. (They were more like little plant thingies, btw.) I think you have to sign that contract thing in order for her to be able to do that.[/quote]

Immortals aren't entirely invincible, as I posted in my blog. Ursula was careless and forgot to wear protective armour.

Yeah, she's cool. I played her once in a LM RPG.
I had a theory on Morgana. I think someone or some being ate Ursula's corpse (Maybe she really was turned into sushi) and they got indigestion and puked, and that's how Morgana was born.

She turned some random mortals into other weak creatures in one LM Tv series "episode" regardless of any contract.
So, she doesn't exactly have to make contracts and all that, she can turn idiots or anyone (who's weaker than her though) into degraded and insignificant creatures regardless of any circumstance. _________________ Well I'd like a Good Laugh too! I'm Laughing already! Hahahahaha!

I'll have to drag out the LM eps and watch them.
Well, I'm sure she had her reasons for not turning Ariel and Eric into seaslugs. Maybe she wanted to watch them suffer. It's boring to eliminate a being so easily.

Hmm, maybe you're right......

Interesting, indeed. Who would win would depend upon where they fight. They'd have to be somewhere where neither would have the upper hand. (i.e. If they fought in the ocean, it's no contest who would win.)

I'll warp them to a random corner of the outer space universe, and I'll sit on a throne, observing their battle. _________________ Well I'd like a Good Laugh too! I'm Laughing already! Hahahahaha!

Ooh! I think I know where you're talking about! That place where random beings go to duel so that both sides can have a fair advantage. I can't believe I forgot about that!

It's tough. But i say Ursula, simply cause of that song and how she changed into Vanessa then stared in the mirror at her true self laughing, i was really little and it scared me! _________________

My twin sister had a dream once, when we were seven, that there was a monster in our walk-in closet that resembled Maleficent. It scared her so bad that there were certain things you couldn't say around her, and she didn't like being in there with the light off.

I am so totally torn on this one. Before I saw Aladdin, LM was my favorite Disney movie, so I've liked Ursula longer, but I like Maleficent too. I think I like Ursula more now because she seems more underrated. I like the characters that Disney is NOT plastering all over the place, and judging by the amount of Maleficent stuff I've seen in parks Maleficent is a popular villain. I just have two problems with Maleficent: this newfound "trendiness" she's achieved [well, she is the closest thing to a trendy Disney villain, you can find Maleficent stuff so easily] and something I got really fed up with after being on this forum for a while. The whole Maleficent-and-Jafar thing drives me nuts. Not because I want Jafar for myself [okay, I do] but because it's just weird and idiotic to throw them together. But I'm off topic. Those two problems with Maleficent are not really with Maleficent herself but with what people think of Maleficent. I'd say I like Maleficent and Ursula equally. I have more Maleficent stuff but that's because there IS more Maleficent stuff. [Can someone think of a nickname for Maleficent so I don't have to keep writing out her name!] By the way, I was looking through a dictionary once and came upon this:
Maleficent, adj. Doing evil or harm; harmfully malicious.
There you have it. She has the most perfect name of any Disney character. |
