AACK!
We're reading Romeo and Juliet... and I keep on reading "Capulet" as "Carpet"!

Me: -randomnly- Dude, I drew a picture of Lady Capulet!
Gaz: Random...
Me: No, not really... we were just cheering and that reminded me of a game. Which reminded me of the Genie and Carpet... and I always misread Capulet as Carpet... and so I thought of Capulet... then I remembered drawing a picture of Lady Capulet. It's not random if you know what's going on in my mind! |

It screws up your developmental process. If you've ever heard of cases of children being raised by animals, that's why they come across as brain-damaged.

Lately, I've been writing "Genie" a lot, so that's often what I write. Looking back, I almost bet I spelled the name wrong on that last test.

I sometimes mix up Jeannie and Genie, but it's rare. It doesn't help I'm a fan of both. |

I just had to share this.
In Child Development, we learned about a case of a girl who was diagnosed by a doctor (back in the 50s) as "slow," so her father, in an attempt to protect her, forbed any contact with her whatsoever, so she grew up without the necessary things that help a child develop. (You'd be amazed what an important role human contact plays in early development.)
Anyway, we read an article on this, and the person was referred to as Jeanie. I have to e-mail my professor with a question or comment every week, and this week, my question concerned that. And, guess how I spelled Jeanie first? I went back and fixed it, but I thought you guys would appreciate that.

| I'd be disappointed if you went and spelled it "Jasmine." 'Sides, I think the way your people pronounce "Jazmin" is pretty cool. |

| Yup, stuff like that happens me, too. With my own name. My middle name is spelled Jazmin, but I almost always make a mistake and spell Jasmine, and I have to go back and change it. I would like it to be spelled Jasmine, but that's the princess from Aladdin, and my mom would kill me if I spelled my name that way. Besides she likes the other spelling better. |

Some Theatre group came to our school when I was in eighth grade, and acted out a scene from that play. When they said, "Iago," I was all, "OOOooh!!! Aladdin!"
