Post subject: Disney saves semi-suicial man. Oddly funnly?
Okay, so I know attempted suicides are never funny but I couldn't help but find this to be oddly humourous!
True story: A man and a woman were arguing on a Carnival cruise ship. The man threatened to jump off the ship's balcony and the woman said "go ahead" and he did. When he lands in the ocean, he starts yelling for help. To their credit, Carnival did call the Coast Guard but they made no attempt to save the man on their own and left him splashing around for 90 minutes. I don't expect them to turn that big ship around to get him and waste fuel + ditch their schedule but c'mon, they don't have life boats? So anyway, a Disney cruise ship (not related to Carnival) that was passing by rescues him.
Reasons I find this story to be oddly funny
1) It was like a really messed up version of Aladdin.
Jasmine: Oh, go jump off a balcony!"
Aladdin: *hops off*
Jasmine: Oh, no!
Except no magic carpet saves the man!
But it's okay because Disney came to the rescue anyway
They sensed that a more realistic version of Aladdin and Jasmine's argument was forming and wouldn't allow the name of fairytales to be tarnished!
2) Disney has always pwned Carnival and this story just makes it worse.
