In the Hercules series Disney put out, there's an episode where Hercules is getting his "chariot license", so that might suggest he's around 15-16 then because he's going between school and training. Princesses are a bit trickier, but I always figured Cinderella to be around 19-20 and Jasmine is 15 going on 16 in the first movie/around 21 by the time she's actually married in the third. A good rule of thumb is a large chunk of Disney's characters are in their late-teens to early 20s
Nothing official, but it just sounds nice
*rereads the thread* Wow, I'm a big geek, huh?
Yeah, but if you ignore the Bud problem all together, the shortest time the series could take is just under 3 years. And that's all assuming that Bud was two in Smells Like Trouble. In a year or two I will have an actual toddler to compare him to. Hell, maybe Bud's a genius 1-year-old, who knows?
Anyway, in BatB, we know the Beast turns 21, and I think I heard somewhere that Belle was 18?

Aladdin in the first movie is 17-18 as far as Disney has sort of put out/sort of haven't (I have a bubble toy that says he's 17, but I also have toys that say 'Raja' so take that as you will
), but how to interpret that line has always been tricky. 17 years from what point, is the problem.

As Aurora is 16 and Tiana was mentioned to be 19, I think

I'm pretty sure Ariel is 16. And she acts like it too IMO
I always thought Snow White was really young, partially because she looks young and lacks the bustiness that most other princesses have.
Eilonwy must be very young as well. Too young to be married probably.

AG: I agree with your theory on Cinderella, and mostly on your Jasmine theory because of an older version of the script I've seen where Sultan says she must be married to a prince by her sixteenth birthday. But I always thought that she was eighteen by KOT, since there was one episode in the series where Aladdin mentioned some ally and how he'd known it for seventeen and a half years, though he never did say that was his age, so...
I always thought Snow White was the youngest of the princesses, but that theory is because of Disney's portrayal of her along with some versions of her that are based on Grimm's portrayal. (I say "based on" because I don't speak German. Therefore, I've never read Grimm's version.
)
Alice is seven to seven and a half. Wendy seems a bit older, though I haven't quite figured that one out. Somewhere between ten and twelve, I expect.
Ok, I'm done for now. Looking forward to reading other people's theories.

Post subject: The age of Disney charas
Especially, I'm asking about those whose movies are characterized by weeks, months or years of training something. Such as Hercules: it's downright stated that he must be 18 when the titans are freed, but how old does that make him when he finds out he's adopted?
Or Mulan, how old is she at the day she's going to the matchmaker and how old when she's won the last fight against Shan-Yu?
With Tarzan, the age difference between before and after the "Son of man" song is big enough to show greatly in appearance, but still we're not told how old he is in either form.
And the age of other charas, Cinderella and Jasmin.
And if anyone else has another chara to ask about the age, that's also for dicussing in here.
