I may be biased on this but, I love Dodger! He has the voice of Billy Freakin' Joel for crying out loud!
I never thought about how bad he was because from my understanding Dodger in the book was always an unsavory character till later on but then again I haven't read the book in ages.
^woah, run on sentence...

Post subject: Thoughts on Oliver And Company
I've been doing some thinking about the movie Oliver and Company, and I've come to the conclsion that Dodger is a surprisingly unpleasant character. I mean, he looks and acts cool, but when you really think about it, isn't he kind of a jerk? Off the top of my head, he...
- Tricked Oliver into helping him get hot dogs, then when Oliver followed him back to Fagin's place on the docks hoping to get a share, was willing to let his friends jump on the poor cat.
- Pitched a fit like a spoiled teenager when Oliver wanted to go back to live with Jenny.
I mean, he did get better throughout the film, and he clearly did grow pretty attached to Oliver, but to me he just strongly came across as being a pretty self-absorbed, manipulative douche for a good half of the movie. Thusly, this is why Tramp is clearly the superior street dog.
Tramp, while admittedly rather shortsighted on occasion, doesn't strike me as being as bad as Dodger was.
