Disneyland and WDW's Magic Kingdom are laid out very similarly, and many of the rides exist on both coasts (though not always as direct REPLICAS of each other, which is a GOOD thing, IMO!), but beyond that, aside from the healthy helping of pixie dust and Mickey 'magic' in both resorts, you're comparing apples to oranges. The different locations have totally different 'feels' to them...Disneyland park is small and intimate, and the rest of Disneyland RESORT is still sort of coming into its own. It's a very friendly, welcoming place. WDW is big and grand in every way, which is a different type of magic in and of itself. I have more of a 'history' with WDW (including my college program, I've been there 16 times, compared with 4 times to Disneyland...I grew up on the East Coast; Florida's always been much closer and thus, cheaper to visit), but even though I've been to Disneyland comparatively very few times, it's made a HUGE impression on me.
