They just cut it out in general. The scene skips to whatever would be next after that. A lot of Genie's Disney character changes are gone, too.
Yeah, I think it's more plausible to have them fling intelligent insults, usually of the descriptive kind, than to use a curse word. I really don't see them cursing for the sake of cursing, either.
As for sexual references, I don't mind it in the appropriate ratings. Unfortunately, I'm usually not in the mood to read that kind of fanfiction. My brain just does not see the characters in that sort of context without a really good lead-up. As for more general ratings (like PG or PG-13), I like the little bits of flirting and innuendo because it gets in every now and then in actual films and episodes, which can give the story more appeal. But don't overdo it! It's a very thin line between what is tasteful and fun, and what is just overkill and inappropriate.

Sometimes, though, we'd like to be able to find more fanfiction without it.
On the subject of swearing (as we know it), I don't think it has much of a place in Aladdin fanfiction. Not so much because I'm against swearing (although admittedly, I'm no fan of it...) as much as the fact that it's out of place for the culture, not to mention out of character. Although the
Aladdin
continuity has a long history of anachronisms,
most
of these are limited to Genie and Iago. Out of these two, I just don't see Genie as the swearing type. Iago, maybe... but given we've never seen him do it, I think it'd still sound a little odd.
I could believe Aladdin calling someone a "son of a bitch." It would be a plausible enough insult for the culture - and he's already called someone a "two-faced son of a jackal."
Overall, if other characters were going to start swearing, I think it'd be more believable for them to launch into intelligent insults (or stupid ones, depending on the character) than to blast off a barrage of the swear words our culture is familiar with.

I don't think there is any problem with sexual references in fanfics... it is
your
story isn't it?? And writers are 99% of the time good at warning readers about those types of things (with ratings like M or whatever), am I right?

I can't imagine Genie swearing a lot just because he doesn't get angry much, but I'll bet he tells a lot of dirty jokes.
Oh, absolutely. He cut it close a few times in the series

I pretty much agree with you all on that point; Aladdin is a G-rated show about non-G-rated people.
Aladdin and Iago even swear in canon in a bowdlerized sort of way ("son of a jackal!" "what the- I mean, awk!"). Abu would have such a potty mouth if he could speak properly. I can't imagine Genie swearing a lot just because he doesn't get angry much, but I'll bet he tells a lot of dirty jokes.
If it's correctly rated, isn't for shock value or because people are writing the characters in their (the authors') voices I have no problem with it.

So, what's your take? In the Aladdin fanfiction I've read, I haven't seen cussing, but I have seen it when people roleplay as certain characters on a website, or whatever. I realize that's different, though.
Personally with just the gang....
Aladdin-He is going to cuss. You can see he wanted to in the movie, but Disney wouldn't let him
. The ocassional "What the hell?!" or "Dammit!", but I can't really see him dropping the f-bomb
that
often. Not that he won't--just that he wouldn't say it or any other big ones all the time or in every sentence, especially around Jasmine out of respect. I can see her having to do an "Aladdin!" if he was getting carried away. She has him on check
Now if he was around just Genie and Iago and it's just a guy thing, that might change
. But it depends on the situation.
Iago-Do we have to go over this?
Genie-
I think he's a social cusser. It depends on where he's at and who he's with. If it's with Iago, Abu, and Carpet in a room playing a game of poker late at night or something, yeah. If it's out shopping with Aladdin and Jasmine, maybe a little if even. I don't think he feels there's really a need to. He talks to certain people differently, so I think that would influence his cussing.
Jasmine-The first few years around everyone, no not really. Maybe a little, but I'm still not sure on that. I mean, yeah there's the whole delicate raised princess thing, but Jasmine isn't your ordinary princess and I'm not sure how she was raised. Maybe she'd cuss to herself or when she was super pissed off, she would say one or two, which would prompt the sultan to have a fit
.
But after a while, she might let out the ocassional "Aladdin...what the hell are you doing?"
I think if she did cuss, it would be by influence.
But overall, I have no problem with it as long as it's not obsessive and sounds like it was thrown in there for the sake of "omgz, jazmin cussed!!11 hehehehehe". It has to be believable even in a rated R or NC-17 fic.

I thought this question would be appropriate here...
How do y'all feel about cussing in fanfiction? I mean, it wasn't in the TV series or movies, but in real life, people do cuss. Maybe not everybody, but enough people do.
I don't think the Aladdin characters would go without cussing, especially given Iago's mouthiness, Aladdin grew up on the streets, and most of the villains aren't exactly Emily Post. But what I do hate is when people go overboard with the cussing. For example, I can picture some of the characters saying the D-word, but not too many of them using the F-word. And for some reason, in all honesty, I can't see Aladdin going all sailor-talk with the four-lettered words, if he even cusses at all.
So, what's your take? In the Aladdin fanfiction I've read, I haven't seen cussing, but I have seen it when people roleplay as certain characters on a website, or whatever. I realize that's different, though.

Mild cussing is appropriate in fanfiction. No matter what rating. Here's the thing... it also depends on the rating for what words are in there.
The F word/D word would be allowed. And is expected to be seen in R rated fanfics. However, again, going overboard, would not be a good idea.
No one reads the mature fanfics for the cussing. They read it to see their favorite characters in a grown up fashion and situation. Take me, for example, I love to read Aladdin fanfiction that is "M" in fashion. However, if I read a bunch of cussing... yeah... that would definitely turn me off.
Keep it to a minimum, and ONLY to the characters that you could imagine using those words.
I.E. Not Jasmine or Genie... but maybe Aladdin... and definitely Rasoul.

hmmm, interesting u should point this out...i have used the b-words, s-word and another word, but i felt it was appropriate in context...but in my whle life of fanficiton i have used like, 5?
I think it is fine if the rating and context is appropriate, u don't have them being all immature and cussing randomly...in fact i can't stand when people do that (i haven't seen any in aladdin fanfiction)
Hmmmm, I have to say, thought I have nothing against it when it is right and used ummmm, properly?

I'm probably the biggest fan of Hakim and Fazal in the whole world, and that was a lot more than even I ever wanted to see of them.
