Here's something I stumbled upon completely by accident...
Well, here I was reading Fruits Basket, and in the back (front?) of the book was a list of other manga titles that Tokyopop sells, and under the header "Cine-Manga" Aladdin was listed. So I checked out Tokyopop's website, and sure enough:
http://tokyopop.com/dbpage.php?page=product&productid=2433
Looks like it's supposed to be the first movie from Jasmine's POV, so hopefully it's new art and not still shots from the movie with speech bubbles added, like the Spirited Away "manga". It says it's 96 pages, so that's about half the size of most of Tokyopop's graphic novels. It comes out on Oct. 12th.
Apparently they've got "cine-manga"s of Kim Possible and the Lilo and Stitch series, too; has anyone here seen them? |

I dislike the Tokyopop Cine-mangas. They're usually just screenshots with word bubbles. If they draw something new, more power to them.
I've actually had the idea to make an Aladdin Doujinshi for a few months now... but I don't think I'm good enough. _________________

Hmm, this definately looks like it'll be screenshot work, but meh.. maybe they'll surprise us? Anyways, I'll keep an eye on it when it comes out. _________________ Careful, kitten! I might think you don't want me here.

Aladdin is an American thing, so it wouldn't be a manga.
The Japanese do like to make comic books of Disney movies a lot. I recently saw a Finding Nemo one(called "Faindingu Nimo"), but it was called a comic, not a manga like the other books that were there. Maybe they have an Aladdin one somewhere. I must find it! |

It was probably a Doujinshi. I know Aladdin appeared in the Kingdom Hearts manga. Actually, lemmie look for that.
Found it, but it doesn't seem to be working correctly.

I would kill for Aladdin doujinshi.
The images for the KH manga seem to be broken... |

Yeah, I noticed. -_- But I did manage to find a chapter saved on my computer... sadly, there's only one shot of Aladdin in it. Here's what he looks like:

It's not a doujinshi. it's actual manga. Aladdin was a character in Kingdom Hearts, you know.
Do you guys want some of the pages? There's one shot of Aladdin, but quite a few of Jafar, Abu, and Jasmine. One or two of Iago, too. _________________

Ah, okay, I found the page where there are more scans of this manga. Yes, it's actual.. since a few volumes of the Full Metal Alchemist manga are right under it. It's quite good.. I wonder if they'll continue posting more volumes from the Kingdom Hearts manga. *has an idea to make some icons from the scans* _________________ Careful, kitten! Mmm, Full Metal Alchemist... I love that show.
SJ - I didn't mean what Tokyopop is making is "real" manga; that's just how they're promoting it. |

Yeah, I know. I was referring to Tokyopop referring to it as a cine-manga. It's just inaccurate. The Japanese don't call anything that's American 'mangas', so Tokyopop shouldn't either. _________________ ...shining...shimmering...splendid... |

I want anything you've got of Jafar, if it's not too much trouble. |

Is this post old? Because I remember I had a thread like this somewhere here. But Aladdin still good in whatever style of cartoon he is. |
