I'm confused as to why they're not using the official lamp, but then I'm just mad they have a bigger one than me. My oil lamp would burn for 30 minutes tops |
I guess the original lamp is kind of dull (even though that was sort of the point in the movie). But for the stage, they need everything bigger and shinier. Even Belle's hair is huge in the Broadway show. I'm surprised Jasmine's hair looks somewhat tame/natural in the pics we've seen. |

But even Carpet looks like a regular carpet, which is making me wonder how that's going to work, too. |

Oh, man, it would've made my life if the show managed to get a carpet that had the exact same design as the one in the movie. But they probably would've had to use sweatshop labor to make it happen, and that would've been a PR mess! |

I wish I could own an exact replica of that, but the stitching would be insane so I can see why they didn't do it. Not even Carpet in the Disneyland show is that detailed. |

Didn't they use a real looking carpet for the Whole New World scene in the park show and then an acrobat for the rest of the show? Maybe they're gonna do something like that?
The wait for info/videos from the spotlight night is painful! Can't remember if it was facebook or twitter, but I'm 99% certain I read somewhere that AWNW was performed.

I wanna say the edges of it look like Carpet when it's in the air, but on stage it's just a bed thing. I don't think it's an exact replica, but I couldn't tell as they were directly above my head when I saw it, so all I got was the underside . But there was an acrobatic with some designs for the carpet on stage.
Read you that on FB as I saw it, too. And "Why Me?" was also performed. I've been checking obsessively for videos >__>
Swim on over and we can all walk there together to keep each other company singing songs: "Good pals, blood brothers, me and about a million others..." |

Let's see how many names we can put in that chorus!
Why Me?! That's cool! Wonder if it's the shortened version from Aladdin Jr. set before he meets Aladdin or if they've added it back in right before Prince Ali Reprise?
One thing's for sure, it WILL be online at somepoint. Keep an eye on this page;

It'll certainly be more than four names
Yep, Mr. Freeman's performance gave people "chills". Why is it not next month?!
They also said to be watching the 5th Avenue website, so I've been checking here as long with the Aladdin page: http://www.5thavenue.org/interactive/ |

So amazing yet so depressing all at once... will be relying on videos!
I don't want to total how much it would cost for me to go... one 15-16 hour flight there, another 15-16 hour flight back home again... |

Whilst we wait for more videos, Courtney (Jasmine) and James (Genie) have both very kindly agreed to an interview. I sent the questions off last night, so hopefully I'll have the answers this week |
