President Arroyo conferred Wednesday the Order of Lakandula with a rank of commander on world-renowned stage star and Tony Award winner Lea Salonga in Malacañang, DZMM reported.
Lea Salonga, or Maria Lea Carmen Imutan Salonga in real life, was conferred the prestigious order for her outstanding contribution to musical theater and world entertainment.

| Congratulations Lea! She is a big influence in the Phillipines and to everybody who looks up to her. There are a few filipino entertainers that make it here in the states but nothing compared to her. She's got the international stardom and is a great mentor. Before, she left to New York for Le Miz, they did a lifetime tribute show for her. they sang a whole new world, reflections etc. It was great. |
