There's also archive.org, but there's always the risk that yahoo will put something in a robots.txt file that will delete all the geocities stuff off there... |

Update:
I'm struggeling to get some sites working meanwhile the Archive Team is busy mirroring all the Geocities. So I don't get them working there's a good chance at least some sites will remain. |

I just sent Evi a message about this on Facebook. The AWNWML site was made by Sindie, right? If so, I could probably reach her on her LJ. I don't know who runs Jasmine's Oasis, and I don't know how else to reach Sedeara except through AML. Don't know how to contact Mo; I only ever talked to him through the Black Sands Pub, which is now dead and full of spam.
At least Yahoo's giving us a warning, unlike Xoom. That took down a lot of fansites back in the day... |

|
Perhaps you've heard that Yahoo! plans to shut down their website service Geocities.com . I read about it yesterday since then I've been archiving websites that have a great meaning to the history of the community. I want persevere it for the future and I like to host the sites as it is on my domain Streetrat.net where I already run a blog, have an Aladdin Villain website, an Iago fansite and several fanlistings.
I tried to contact the owners of A Whole New World Mailing list Homepage and Jasmine's Oasis for permission but their addresses aren't in use anymore. The same goes for Welcome to Agrabah , the first Aladdin fansite! I'm looking to archive other site like Sadira's Sand Scrolls and a Mozenrath fansite.
I already send a message to the two mailinglists, AML and ANWNML hoping someone knows them.
I'll appreciate if anyone can help get in contact. |
