Today there was a post on the Drawn2gether blog about Sue Nichols, who worked on Visual Development at Disney for several years. Part of the article talks about her time working in the story department on Aladdin. Of particular interest is some production art she drew of Jasmine (left) back when Linda Woolverton was still writing the script. Except that's not Princess Jasmine, it's Jasmine the friend of Princess Alia; the story was pretty different back then! (Maybe Prince Ali is named after that old character?) While you're there check out the archives; there are some cool photos and sketches.

Speaking of production art, I've uploaded a bunch of photos of the animators and actors, model sheets, cartoons about the making of Aladdin, and other production art. These were all scanned from the Aladdin Yearbook and donated by AladdinsGenie. (Thanks, AG!)

Finally, I know this is really short notice, but Toon Disney is having a House of Mouse marathon today, and at 11am Eastern / 10am Central they will be showing the episode "Donald's Lamp Trade". In this episode Jafar hypnotizes Donald to get him to steal "the lamp" for him, and there are a few scenes that parody Aladdin. There's also a cute commercial at the end for Cave of Wonders Storage. If you haven't already missed it, it's worth a look. Wink
