Haha... when he thanks the creators of Aladdin, and the audience applauds? The person cheering over the applause is me.

Greetings, friends and Aladdin fans!
I was at the D23 Expo last week, and the entire experience was simply amazing.
The Legends ceremony was incredible, and I was really, really thrilled that Robin attended. He truly seemed appreciative and, not so surprisingly, he was hysterical
He opened his speech in an Elmer Fudd voice before stating, "wrong studio," and then proceeded to give Bob Iger some "suggestions" in case Shanghai Disneyland ever comes to be... Mickey Mao, anyone?
He also expressed his happiness at simply being alive after heart surgery. As far as Aladdin goes, he said he truly wanted to thank all of the animators who made the film, talking about how they really pushed what animation could do... and get away with. Something about how Jack Nicholson in a family film was always risky, and William F. Buckley in a film was just plain scary, no matter what.
He also praised the late Walter Cronkite, with whom he'd starred in the original version of the Magic of Disney Animation attraction at Disney-MGM/Disney's Hollywood Studios, back when it was the site of Feature Animation Florida. (That tour was my favorite thing to do in WDW back then...)
... but I guess most of you have watched the video by now, so I'm not saying much new. Still. Wanted to share that the experience was fabulous, and that past bad-blood between Robin and Disney didn't create a scene.

I didn't watch it, but there's his speech for the curious.

I highly doubt he'll show up for the ceremony, but it'd be awesome if he did. It's kinda cool that he's getting the Legends Award, but after all the BS they've been through? It seems kinda.... erm, I don't know, pointless in a way? Pleading?

He had (another) falling out over that Bicentennial Man movie and how Disney cut production costs, which everyone thinks lead to it tanking at box offices. The movie was going to flop either way because it just wasn't a great film.
But I laughed when I read this a few days ago. Disney Propaganda is hilarious.

I heard about that movie Old Dogs that he's going to be in that's for Disney and was surprised about that; I thought he had another falling out with them again sometime after KoT. I'm kind of curious to see his reaction to getting the award, because he wasn't too happy about getting his Golden Globe for Aladdin...

YAY!
This is great. He deserves it. I hope he enjoys it. I know he has bad blood with Disney but I hope he just accepts his award thankfully and doesn't think too much about the past.

Post subject: Robin Williams to recieve Disney Legends Award
Robin Williams will be one of the recipients of this years'
Disney Legends Awards
(sort of a Disney lifetime achievement award). The awards will be handed out September 10th at the
D23 Expo
, the official Disney fan convention.
