I know I'm responding to this out of order.

I'm working on a way to not go into a massive rant.

Oh, I agree there. I think him leaving early was intentional to sabotage Cassim's plan.
I don't think he would have just 'left' Cassim. I think he left because of Genie- the men were getting destroyed, so he left the raid. I don't think it was solely because of Cassim's plan, though he certainly was against it before the wedding began.
Though it's an interesting coinsidence that the elephant happens to barge through and "save" Cassim right as the men leave. A bit of "clawed intervention" perhaps?

d) He isn't hungry for being the best. Saluk is.
Oh, I'd be willing to argue that Cassim is as hungry, if not more hungry, for the best than Sa'luk is. Cassim left his family behind in his quest to give them eternal wealth. While he didn't totally go the route of corruption (as much of his ethics are still intact), Cassim's betrayal of Aladdin (before the 2nd wedding) proves that it did eventually become a personal quest for the treasure that would make him the richest man in the world.
I buy what Sa'luk is saying at the beginning of "In or Out"-- he longs for the old days of the group, when they were actually successful. There's really nothing stating that he hates Cassim personally...just as a King, which, objectively, Cassim has failed as. Sa'luk was absolutely a jerk for betraying the group, but I think that he was determined to make the best for the group, no matter what he had to do to get there. Similar to Cassim and his desire to provide for his family.

Just.... boo.

Like when Sa'luk is grumbling (if you want to call it grumbling) that they didn't get anything for their trouble in Agrabah. He seemed to care only about the stealing, even if it would mean people dying.
But their entire lifestyle is based around stealing. If the group is becoming unable to do that properly, he's right to call Cassim on it. Cassim's "job" as King is to ensure success. It's not like Sa'luk was alone in his opinion-- the men were starting to buy it too.

Not sure where the writers got them, but I'm sure those are a real weapon. I need to look it up again...
They remind me of brass knuckles... only... sharper and deadlier!

Knowing Sa'luk he probably would have stayed there and got it no matter what, if it was his job. Are we talking about the beginning of the movie, where they're trying to steal the oracle from the wedding? Because Sa'luk definitely left first. (Remember "we'll leave the king to his plan"?)
Cassim is so cool.
Forgive me for not saying why.
a) He's Aladdin's dad... He's a lot more good-looking than Saluk.
b) He's a kind-hearted thief, if there is such a thing. He takes things without "hurting the innocent." (My guess is that that isn't always the case, however.)
c) A true thief can take something without force. I admire how Cassim is cunning. (He seems like kind of person who would use Aladdin's techniques i.e. the one with Abu and the melons.)
d) He isn't hungry for being the best. Saluk is.
e) His outfit is cooler

Well, if I put in my two cents worth... I'll go with what these two said.
Couldn't resist.
I think that Sa'luk would be more of the stealing type person myself. To me, Cassim doesn't seem like the one to do that. I think that he (like someone else said before) is more of a con. Like when Sa'luk is grumbling (if you want to call it grumbling) that they didn't get anything for their trouble in Agrabah. He seemed to care only about the stealing, even if it would mean people dying.
Which brings back another topic, discussing Sa'luk and Cassim. I mean, I think that when Cassim says "We never hurt the innocent," I think he meant that he didn't want to kill anyone innocent. Knowing Sa'luk he probably would have stayed there and got it no matter what, if it was his job. But Cassim didn't want to hurt anyone, so he left when it got too messy, and he realized he wasn't going to be able to steal the oracle without hurting/killing someone.
That's enough...
